Hi fellow ambassadors,
Just to report a presentation I gave the previous week.
Well 1 and a half week ago I gave a speech about fedora in my school
in Thessaloniki,Greece. In the beginning I didn't know what to expect
but the final outcome was great.
There were around 30 attendees. So,I started with a presentation using
a projector and did my best to represent fedora in the best way.I
talked about fedora as an operating system and focused on its
strengths. After that I spoke about the fedora community and the way we
act as a part of it.Also,I tried to convince them to join the fedora
project.
In the second part of the presentation, there was something like a
small workshop and we used live cds in the PCs of our computer
laboratory. The students were surprised because they didn't have the
chance to use a linux distribution before. In the end, they asked me
more than 25 questions (!) and that seemed that they really became
interested in fedora. Finally,I handed live cds and fedora flyers
(translated in Greek). All of the students seemed to be satisfied.
In the end,I think that the speech was pretty good and the final
outcome was above my expectations. It was a good speech from a 15 year
old ambassador I guess :)
You can views some photos from the presentation (they are pretty
bad-taken photos, but never mind) [1] as well as read the blog post
here [2]
Also,I would like to thank the fellow contributors from the Greek
Fedora Team for their help :)
Regards,
giannisk
