Thanks for your efforts, Juan Carlos.
I think it's time to separate the North American and South American meetings.
Rodrigo Padula de Oliveira is already pushing to organize both LATAM and Brazilian meetings on a regular basis. I have cc'd him on this email.
Which leaves North America.
North American ambassadors: I would like to propose a bi-weekly meeting. Roll call: who would be interested in such a meeting?

As long as the meetings consist of more than roll call followed by cancellation for lack of a quorum. :)

I'd be interested provided there are concrete items to discuss and make decisions on. An hour long meeting that is nothing more than status reports on forthcoming events is at best ineffective. While narrowing that down to the continent will help relevance, the content needs to be appropriate as well.

I think it's necessary a continuity to cancel the Meeting Chair's "Lack of quorum" nightmare.
I saw that if there is constance holding those meetings, people will easily remember it and will join it, if this one is broken people will forget to attend those ones.
Naturally this is the tip of the iceberg, but I wanted to share with all of you that lesson I've learned: people need a reason, a place and the voice :), with those elements you will have a successful meeting (leadership included).
Naturally, if I would able to attend I will do it.
Regards
Francesco Ugolini

I agree with Francesco that having consistency in the meeting dates will help participants remember, and plan to attend. With regular meetings also comes the ease of advertising those meetings to would-be participants.
By having a tighter schedule (every two weeks) we can ensure that if you miss a meeting, or one is canceled, you will not have to wait very long to address a topic in that forum.

Yes. I will make this happen.

So let's agree on the date. :)
To repeat my initial proposition: every two weeks, 9pm Eastern US time, starting on Tuesday July 15th.
If I get at least four +1s, and more +1s than -1s, I'll set it up.

Greg, didn't see this one before. That's a perfect time for me :)

Well, that all depends upon us, doesn't it? :)
We need a strong core of no less than 4-6 folks who will be there every meeting. My take: we should be getting together every two weeks. If we can get this quorum to agree, we can gather enough momentum to make these meetings meaningful. I will lead for now.
My take: evenings are better than days. Maybe every other Tuesday, 9pm Eastern, starting Tuesday the 15th?

+1; evenings are likely much less problematic for most of us who are hectic during the day.

9PM Eastern works for me, and will hopefully be late enough for those on the west coast.
As for leading meetings - I'd be willing to do so, with some guidance from Greg.

I cannot make 7/15 because of the Lindependence 2008 event in Felton, California, that evening, but all other Tuesdays at 6 Pacific Time work for me.

If the meetings were early or late in the day, I could attend. Midday as most of the meetings seem to be, never allows me to attend.
Cheers,

Are you in Pacific or Mountain time? Is 9pm Eastern still too early for you to attend?

Mountain Time, however I missed the comment about 9pm EDT so I am good. Already gave a +1 in a previous email in this thread.
Sorry for the confusion.
