Hi, we have a contributor who posted a modified logo with fedora-ve
text in it.
Is it valid to do such modifications? I dont want to punish him but
certainly he has a point on localizing the logo somehow.
What's the policy in this case? To encourgae him to make it "the
right" or not to modify it at all ?
Guillermo

[Fedora-marketing-list] who has some CSS/wiki foo?
by Max Spevack
So I did some minor changes last night to FedoraMain, the front page of
the wiki.
But I think we need to do a lot more to make it look good.
Compare:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/
http://www.mozilla.com/
http://www.ubuntu.com/
http://en.opensuse.org/Welcome_to_openSUSE.org
Here's my vision for the front page of our wiki. But I don't have time to
do it myself. So I want to give it to you, and help make it *our* vision.
Expand on it, critisize it, etc.
I think that a comparatively small amount of effort could make a *huge*
difference in the professional look and feel, and ease of use, of our
wiki.
This is only going to look right in plain text email readers:
------------------------------------------------------------
Stuff that comes at the top of the wiki
------------------------------------------------------------
Two column layout
FC6 screenshot Fedora logo
Download FC6
torrents, x86, etc.
Download FC%
torrents, x86, etc.
basically the way it is right now, some sort of box around it to set it
apart from the rest of the FedoraMain
------------------------------------------------------------
Two column layout
Left column, in white Right column, some sort of color bg
Fedora Projects General Information
now we list the "biggest" stuff like FAQ, Communicate,
Projects, with just a few Press queries, etc, one or two
words about each "latest news" blurbs, weekly
reports, etc.

[Fedora-marketing-list] Help PERU
by Hernan Pachas
Estimados amigos.
Saludos,
---Hernan

English Version
Dear friends.
Recently, I have added the group of ambassadors of "Fedora Project", like
ambassador of PERU.
The 21 of October will be made in Lima. - Peru, a very great event in which
many distributions of Linux will be present, demonstrating its operativity
live. Between the distributions that are in the list they find:
- OpenSUSE - Peru
- Debian - Peru
- Mandrake - Peru
- Ubuntu - Peru
Each one of which they will show the public who attends the event kindness
of each distribution besides to flatter t-shirt, Dvds, key rings among other
materials of merchandesing.
It is for that reason that I resort to the list, to ask for aid as far as
the materials of merchandesing that can offer for the event.
Whatever with an equipment that can be in charge of this praiseworthy
work.
We hoped that they can help us.
Thank you very much by the aid that can offer us.
Greetings,

[Fedora-marketing-list] false fedora mirror...
by Max Murdock
Hello...
I'm an Italian Linux usera and "Fedora lover", I follow and appreciate
very much the work you guys are doing to keep the distro at top
level...
I'd like to make you notice a thing, maybe you can't see it because
you're not Italian...
I had to download the cd isos this week so I went to look for some
italian mirrors and I found that the one of ngi is RESTRICTED!...
http://fedora.ngi.it/ redirects to
http://gaming.ngi.it/mirror_maintenance/
where you find this notice:
"Dear user,
our mirrors are currently available only for users connecting from
NGI's IP addresses."
Currently? To me it's an excuse: it's been at least months of this
situation lasting...
I took a look and discovered the same page just some months ago, but I
didn't write to you to report this. I'm doing it now to ask you to
think about and maybe reconsider their presence in Fedora mirrirs page
because actually theirs is NOT a mirror. It's not public as you can
see!
I personally dislike when one tries to publicize itsself offering a
service that actually isn't there. What's more, using free software
communities...
Thanks for the attention, anyway...
Greetings

Yes, I did do some work, but nothing I feel is share-able at this point.
