I don't consider you a "lesser" ambassador at all.
However, one of our foundations in friends. If every group which
accepts new friends for contributors starts putting up walls and
closing doors to help, we won't be making very many new friends.
The friends foundation doesn't make the Fedora Project a social club
with the purpose of making friends though.
Quoting from the about page on the website we read this about friends:
"We believe success comes from a strong community, made of people from
around the world, working together.
There's a place in Fedora for anyone who supports our values and wants
to help. By collaborating with each other
openly and transparently, and with a strong, supportive partnership
with our sponsors, we can achieve great
things."
That second sentence is important - we share values and we help.
