1. libxfcegui4 doesn't build against 4.12. This is due to some
symbols/functions that were dropped in 2012 in libxfce4util. We could
possibly dredge them up and add them in a local patch, but at this
point I think we should just let it go.
If we retire libxfcegui4, this then removes the following other
packages that depend on it still:
xfce4-timer-plugin
xfce4-modemlights-plugin
xfce4-cellmodem-plugin
xfce4-radio-plugin
xfce4-quicklauncher-plugin
xfce4-smartbookmark-plugin
xfce4-wmdock-plugin
xfce4-notes-plugin
xfbib
For my personal speaking, I do not need those plugins and think I never
did. But maybe they could be useful for users still using a modulating
demulator? Sorry, just kidding. Let those goodies die in peace. :)
The only one I could imagine to be necessary to keep and may have a use
case is xfce4-notes-plugin. Maybe we should file any upstream bugs to
request a port to libxfce4ui:

Oh well, and the timer plugin. It should be deprecated cause of
xfce4-hamster-plugin that has more features.
