Updates to Rawhide toasted Xfce in VirtualBox guest

I updated a VirtualBox Rawhide guest that was running 
kernel-5.19.0-0.rc2.21.fc37.x86_64 (so not too far out of date) but on 
the next boot slick-greeter worked, but after login to Xfce I had a 
functioning cursor but a black screen.  I'm only running Rawhide with 
Xfce so don't know if other GUIs are impacted.

Is anyone else seeing something like this?
