What would be a good introduction to kde for someone who has
never used it before?
for starters, if not installed;
http://kde.org/
http://userbase.kde.org/An_introduction_to_KDE
[ also, note to left under 'navigation' *help* ]
after installing kde, select *help* from menu.
as an added note, when inside programs, pressing <f1> key will give help
on that program as well will clicking on *help* in menu bar.
