Interface fonts in Firefox and Thunderbird with KDE4
by James Amundson
Hi,
Does anyone out there understand how Firefox and Thunderbird determine
which fonts to use for their user interface, i.e., menus, etc? I have
installed "GTK styles and Fonts" display settings module. It works fine
for ordinary gtk and Gnome applications. However, Firefox and
Thunderbird seem to have some more complex system for determining their
system fonts. The only way I can get F & T to respect my font choice
while using KDE4 is to
(1) log in under Gnome,
(2) change some font settings,
(3) log out (without rebooting)
(4) log in under KDE4.
Does anyone else have this problem? I'd love to report it as a bug, but
I'm not even sure which component is the problem.

Re: Blue Panel
by Petrus de Calguarium
I rather like it blue, but it only stays blue for a little while and then
turns black and I cannot make it become blue anymore. Sometimes one of my
panels is blue and the other black, but this is only on the laptop. Yes, I do
believe I recall it having been transparent a few weeks ago, but I haven't
seen that for a long time now.

Blue Panel
by Paul Vandenberg
Hi,
Does anyone know if the KDE 4.2 Oxygen panel is supposed to be blue?
It was transparent at first. I turned off desktop effects. The panel
then became black. When I went to resize it, it turned blue and no
matter what I do, it stays blue, even if I turn desktop effects back
on. Just wondering if this is expected behaviour or is a bug. I am
using KDE 4.2 beta 2.

kbluetooth4 symbol lookup error
by Andreas Petzold
Hi,
starting kbluetooth4 and plugging a usb bluetooth dongle, I get the
following error:
kbluetooth4: symbol lookup error: kbluetooth4: undefined symbol:
_ZN5Solid7Control16BluetoothManager8securityERK7QString
c++filt tells me that this is a Solid symbol
_ZN5Solid7Control16BluetoothManager8securityERK7QString
Solid::Control::BluetoothManager::security(QString const&)
so I guess this is a kdelibs problem. Does kdebluetooth need to be
rebuild for the 4.2beta?
kdelibs-4.1.85-6.fc10.i386
kdebluetooth-0.2-3.fc10.i386
Cheers,
Andreas

permanently expand all threads in selected folders
by Claude Jones
It uset to be possible to set the behavior for thread expansion.
For certain folders, like the one I pipe this list to, for
example, I prefer to have all threads permanently expanded. I
can't seem to get that to happen any more...
anyone?

Weather Plasmoid
by Petrus de Calguarium
In 4.1.80 or thereabout the weather plasmoid used to offer data sources like
Environment Canada and a coupla others. In subsequent updates, no data sources
have been available, rendering the plasmoid useless.
