Lately, every time I start knode, I get a message box saying
scanstyle does nothing webkit/firefox

No idea what that's about.

You may be viewing some HTML message using Curvy Corners 
(http://www.curvycorners.net/), it produces that silly message in KHTML 
(because it thinks KHTML is WebKit and then is surprised when WebKit-
specific nonstandard extensions to CSS don't work).
