Are you sure the live CD does not contain a screensaver?
The live CD kickstart file (at least for nightly images) installs the
group xfce-desktop. xscreensaver-base should installed as a part of that.
Unless, of course, I am wrong here.

Yup. They are missing. Red Hat got a bit "annoyed" at me
for reporting it to them first. Said to report it to you.

During the process with Red Hat, I found that the KDM Live
CD was missing them too. And Red Hat pointed out that "Mate"
came with them.
