Hi,
I've always used Fedora DVDs (as opposed to the live CDs) for
installation as I could install both KDE & GNOME and a slew of other
packages without connecting to the internet. I tried F18 beta DVD and
found that I could select either KDE or GNOME and not both during
installation.
Is this OK from a KDE perspective? I'm a strong KDE user, but I wish
to
have GNOME installed too. So, what is the recommended way to install
both? Should I install KDE desktop from Anaconda and then install
GNOME
using Yum later? Or should it be the other way round?
So far, Fedora didn't offer any easy way to install more packages
from
the DVD after installation. The user has to mount the DVD and create
a
repo file and do some yum command line vodoo for installing stuff off
the DVD.
What is the recommended action plan for F18?
It's the Installer team's design choice... See bug
