I am running F15 fully updated with:
kde-plasma-networkmanagement-0.9-0.54.20110812git.nm09.fc15.x86_64
There is a wifi network which has hidden SSID (I don't like this but it is there nonetheless). I need to connect to it.
At one point I could click on a list of hidden networks - at another point there was a place I could hand type in the hidden SSID - now there is nothing - it is not showing up in the list and there seems to be no way to connect to it.
The network is configured, and password etc are fine when I choose "manage connections" - however all I can do there is view or edit the details but not connect.
So, how do I ask the applet to connect to a known hidden wifi network?
Thanks!

Unfortunately, connecting to hidden SSIDs is not currently supported, in fact, it's been only implemented yesterday :) [1]
I'm planning to do a kde-plasma-networkmanagement snapshot update sometime today or tomorrow, stay tuned

Ah ok ... good ...
thanks for followup ... when do you think it will hit koji builds?

When the NM 0.9 package hits the stable updates, kde-plasma-networkmanagement recent snapshots depend on it.

No need to wait for stable - we can download 0.9 NM from koji as well and test both out of koji can't we?
If we can use this NM:
http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=260651
Then all we need is kde-plasma-networkmanagement in koji as well.

We can't build the new kde-plasma-networkmanagement if we don't have NetworkManager 0.9.0 in the buildroot, and Bodhi unhelpfully doesn't allow even provenpackagers to submit a buildroot override.
I could probably bother rel-eng, but at this point I think I'll just wait for the stable push, the update is now queued.

Any news on this ?
I see failed builds in Koji for
kde-plasma-networkmanagement-0.9-0.57.20110907git.nm09.fc15
Is this the right one?

Q1) Does the install restart the applet or do I need to restart it (or logoff/logon) ?
I will test the hidden networks as soon as I can ... which probably wont be till Monday -
Thanks for your work!

You need to restart your session after install (for best results anyway).

Ok thanks - I'll report back as soon as I can make/access a hidden AP.

Running kde-plasma-networkmanagement-0.9-0.59.20110919git:
I see the 'hidden network' button is now back -
(1) I will be able to try it today with a hidden network.
(2) The 'hidden network' button - doesn't offer a drop down of known networks - it forces me to type the SSID by hand even if it's a known SSID I want to connet to - can this be improved, it would be far more conventient to allow the user to connect to any known network (this is the way the gnome one (used to) works?
(3) Also, if NM sees a beacon signal from a hidden network - will the applet now add that to the list of available networks (perhaps marked with hidden) ?
