It does not build with current KDE API, trunk one is needed. I tried it a few 
weeks ago (it built that time) but it was far from perfection. But I'd like to 
try it again soon.

It might be possible to build patched kdelibs and/or kdebase-workspace with 
some backports, or even to stick backported classes directly into Plasma 
Active.

That (patching some classes in kdebase-workspace and backporting others into 
kde-plasma-weather itself) is how I built kde-plasma-weather for KDE 4.1.

But of course, Plasma Active goes much deeper into Plasma's internals than 
the weather plasmoid, so it's going to be harder to build a backported 
kludge. But after seeing the F15 NM kludge, I think nothing is impossible.

Yep, it should be possible and it should not be very difficult from what I see. 
Just I'm not sure it's really worth now - if someone wants to try it out - 
there's possibility to build own KDE trunk and especially rebuild Active on top 
of it in a higher frequency than we could rebuild it in Fedora. But I'd like to 
try it at least - it would be great to have at least something easily 
installable for other input for upstream.

https://build.opensuse.org/project/show?project=KDE%3AActive
and to maintain Fedora packages. OBS happily creates packages for Fedora is one writes 
spec files for it.

I'm probably going to tackle packaging Plasma Active for F14/F15 in a
few weeks.  I'm not sure how we'll handle the dependencies yet.

I don't doubt Plasma Active its pretty "raw".  But then so is Meego and
I have a lot of faith in the KDE team.

The earlier the community has input into what they are doing the more
leverage we'll have on the outcome.

My OBS account is older than Fedora one :) But I'd like to see Active in Fedora, 
it actually starts making sense with re-started Fedora ARM etc., to have really 
small Fedora Active spin based on Plasma Active (in a different way than we tried 
with Netbook one).

Practically same work is needed in OBS as directly in Fedora, so it does not 
make sense to do the work twice.
