I'm personally not entirely able (time mostly) or interested in maintaining it officially. Hopefully, now that the initial work is done for you, maybe taking it over would be easier. ;) .spec srpm here: http://rdieter.fedorapeople.org/rpms/plasma-icontasks/
I'll put some builds of this into kde-testing shortly to wet your appetites.

no need for anyone to pick this one up for maintaining officially anymore, it is included in kdeplasma-addons-4.7.95+
