F-13 login panel on left

Anyone know why the F-13 login panel on the left side of the screen?  It 
seems very disorienting to me.

The initial design is so the login pane doesn't obscure the rocket swirls on 
the right.

This is all still in flux.  the design team often goes through several 
interations of artwork, so we'll have to wait-n-see.
