Hi,
after installing the latest updates from kde-testing, kwalletmanager
can't open the old wallet anymore. It says " Error opening the
wallet *kdewallet*. Please try again. (Error code -9: Read error -
possibly incorrect password.) The new kwallet(5) is still working.
The currently installed kwallet rpms are:
kf5-kwallet-5.18.0-1.fc23.x86_64
kwalletmanager-15.04.3-2.fc23.x86_64
kwalletmanager5-15.08.3-1.fc23.x86_64
kf5-kwallet-libs-5.18.0-1.fc23.x86_64
Does anyone else see a similar problem?
Yes, since roughly 10 days I am getting the same error on a
fully updated (from stable) Fedora 22.
These packages are currently installed:
$ rpm -qa | egrep "kwallet|kgpg"
kwalletmanager-15.04.3-3.fc22.x86_64
kwalletmanager5-15.12.1-1.fc22.x86_64
kf5-kwallet-5.18.0-2.fc22.x86_64
kf5-kwallet-libs-5.18.0-2.fc22.x86_64
pam-kwallet-5.5.1-1.fc22.x86_64
kgpg-15.12.1-1.fc22.x86_64
For a test, I temporarily downgraded to
kwalletmanager.x86_64 15.04.0-1.fc22
kwalletmanager5.x86_64 15.04.0-1.20150501git.fc22
kgpg.x86_64 15.04.0-1.fc22
but this did not fix the issue.
Rex, I saw your reply

May be relevant, but a problem was found with recent
kf5-kwallet-5.18.0-1
where kwallet would block/hang, fixed build (for f23) here:
https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2016-87a1fc173b
-- Rex
which points to
kf5-kwallet-5.18.0-2.fc23
Pull in upstream fix for kwallet possibly blocking (when opened via
pam-kwallet).
Is it possible that the corresponding update for F22,
kf5-kwallet-5.18.0-2.fc22.x86_64
for some reason misses the upstream fix?
Cheers,
- Fredy
