Amarok still depending in hald?

Hi list!

Since the udisks problem is now fixed i tried to remove hald since kde no 
longer uses it yum wants to remove amarok? Is this a dangling dependency is 
hal really used by amarok?

Just wondering

There is no hal dep in f15+ (at least, there *should* not be).

amarok in f14 has a silly dependency on libmtp-hal (the mere existence
of that subpkg and requirement of such a dep is the silly part).

libmtp change affects everything >= F14 including Rawhide. Did anybody 
actually test Amarok on Rawhide without libmtp-hal and hal?

The subpackage exists mainly to carry the Requires: hal, not because of the 
one file. Even if the file were in the main libmtp package, Amarok would 
still have to Requires: hal to work, at least in F14. With the libmtp-hal 
subpackage, no direct Requires: hal is needed because the subpackage takes 
care of dragging it in.

Yes I use Amarok without libmtp-hal. Only libmtp-1.0.4-3.fc15.x86_64 is 
installed. rpm -q --requires libmtp gives:
