So, to answer myself:
Due to the conflicting versioning schemes, kwalletmanager 4 updates 5,
not the other way round.
Also, kf5-kwallet is what you need if you want to switch the wallet
over. It does not update kwallet (4) automatically. But under plasma 5,
kwalletd (4) apparently does not get started, so it's useless.
kwalletd5 from kf5-kwallet does get started automatically in plasma 5,
kwalletmanager5 from kwalletmanager.5.0.92... offers to migrate the
wallet over, and everything is smooth sailing afterwards.
Note that the packages kf5-kwallet and kwalletmanager.5.0.92.. provide
binaries kwalletd5 resp. kwalletmanager5 (not kwalletd resp.
kwalletmanager). The latter package probably would be better named
kf5-kwalletmanager (or all of them should obsolete the "4" versions).

The version from plasma-5 is not offered as update, and does not get
installed with "plasma5". I'm on plasma5 otherwise, so should I install
the kwalletmanager from dvratil-plasma-5?
