alsa-plugins-pulseaudio makes ALSA apps work with PulseAudio. It's an
essential part of a working PulseAudio setup.
I don't know what you did to get Phonon not working with PulseAudio,
because normally it just works. It definitely does on my 2 machines.

Just installed it, and then no sound out of multimedia apps. Amarok included.
