Edit ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4 and add this line:
gtk-font-name="dejavu sans 13"
to change the font to e.g. DejaVu Sans size 13pt; then restart
Thunderbird for the changes to take effect. Note that this only
affects the font size in the UI but not the messages content.
The line
gtk-font-name="Sans Serif 12" existed. I changed it to
Konsole output<br> <br> gtk-font-name="Sans Serif 12
gtk-font-name="Sans Serif 14" as well as your suggestion and it had no apparent
effect even after restarting. The size of the fonts in the UI did not change.
