Thanks everyone for all the testing a feedback, just now we've queue'd kf5-5.24.0 and plasma-5.7.1 for f23/f24 stable updates.
That means I can start work on sending plasma-5.7.2 to -testing. Notable bugs fixed: * kwin default decoration back to breeze (from plastique)

FWIW Rex, I have been running plasma-5.7.2 since it landed in unstable and it is running very well indeed. Will leave karma when it hits bodhi.
F24, Nouveau, Single monitor.

looks good so far
with F24 it still spits the logs full of useless messages while i don't unterstand the difference to F23 because i had on both 5.7.1 from kde-testing/updates-testing and that started with the dist-upgrade (until now the only regression of F24 for me)
for now i put some filters in rsyslog.conf since i have no use for QPainter logging every second rectangle it draws :-)

can we get rid of all that syslog spam somewhere in time? i get tired by write every day more and more filters

Do you mean if I update to Plasma 5.7.1 my theme will be changed as a part of the bug you mention?

Yes, the default kwin decoration was inadvertently set to plastique in kwin-5.7.1. We found the cause and fixed it in kwin-5.7.2-2

Is the broken kwin-5.7.1 package still going to be pushed to stable?

ROFL... I just realized that kwin decoration was different... DUH! Easy enough to change back. IMO this isn't enough of a fubar to stop the push. It's just cosmetic. People who it would bother most likely will know how to fix it.

Yes. It was noticed and reported too late.

Well, I'm starting hating KDE updates... when I've updated from F23 to F24 many applications lost their settings (Amarok for example) and I had to reset all my preferences.
Now after the update to kf5-5.24 I lost all my desktop settings... does KDE developers require that users only use KDE with their default settings??...

unconfirmed
my desktop is *highly* customized and unchanged over at least 6 months, otherwise you would have heard me crying out loud
what i can imagine is that there are bugs in case you are doing the upgrades within the running session because KDE developers are not smart enough for making write access on config files only when something changed (hence i lost my widget settings multiple times over years while widgets lcoekd and so nobody has a business to even touch the mtime of the file)

I have not seen any migration stretegy on any software that has been upgraded to Plasma 5. The latest victim is Kontact. I lost my settings when I upgraded to Fedora 24. Somebody created a thread about this a while ago.

that's a different story than "Now after the update to kf5-5.24 I lost all my desktop settings"
that migrations on KDE are horrible since the great idea sacrifice all twice, first with KDE4 and after that got somehow stable and shiny repeat it again is a fact
Plasma5/KDE5 or however they want it called should have not been released before *every* application of the ecosystem is ported instead what happens the last 2 years

amarok had no (major) upgrade between f23 and f24, so I find that odd in the least. Definitely not the case for me.
