Hello,
I am new to fedora, and was looking for an activity to help the project. I figured out with some help that I could translate some of your docs into French. I started on web translate, and wonder what to do next to have the changes validated.
I have started to suggest translations in French, and I would like to be put in contact with the francophone coordinator, if such a person exist in Fedora.
Also I would like to know if there is a policy concerning the use of inclusive language in French. I have opened a diversity ticket here https://pagure.io/fedora-diversity/issue/204
I am also looking for the translation project and translation guidelines !
Warm regards,
Nattes
Hi,
The iputils package [1] is set of small useful utilities for Linux networking.
It contains the following tools
arping
clockdiff
ninfod
ping
rarpd
rdisc
tftpd
tracepath
traceroute6
The new release 202107 is planned during mid of July.
You can add/improve the translations on Fedora's Weblate [2].
Many thanks in advance for your work.
Best regards,
Yuri

Hi
Currently the pt-sans-fonts package is installed by default as part of the
@fonts yum group.
However as far as I can tell, e.g. looking at
https://tagoh.fedorapeople.org/fonts/status/34.html the font is not used by
default for any of our locales.
Therefore unless there is a strong reason to keep it pre-installed I would
like to propose dropping pt-sans-fonts from @fonts in F35. Obviously we
still have Cyrillic coverage provided by deja-sans-fonts. Any feedback on
this? Note also that langpacks-ru pulls in pt-sans-fonts.
Jens
Hi, there :)
My name's Arman from Indonesia. I'm new member here and never use mailing list before. I'm using Fedora since Fedora Workstation 32. I'm from Indonesia and I've already did some translation and suggestion for Bahasa Indonesia in https://translate.fedoraproject.org/. I want to contribute in this team, especially for translating Fedora Documentation to Bahasa Indonesia.
Hopefully I can contribute and have great experience here :)
Thanks and regards,
Arman
Hello all,
a build of alt.fedoraproject.org website wasn't working with
translations for some time. There is related issue ticket in
Fedora-infra[1].
If you want to help, please check if translation updates of
the website now work in your language in the staged
instance[2]. If you find any issue, plese comment in the
ticket (or reply to this e-mail).

You can instead skip this commit: run "git rebase --skip".
To abort and get back to the state before "git rebase", run "git

Typical workflow for fixing merge conflicts
1. Commit all pending changes in Weblate and lock the translation
component.
wlc commit; wlc lock
2. Add Weblate exported repository as a remote.
git remote add weblate
https://translate.fedoraproject.org/git/fedora-media-writer/mediawriter/
; git remote update weblate
3. Merge Weblate changes and resolve any conflicts.
git merge weblate/main
4. Push changes into upstream repository.
git push origin main
5. Weblate should now be able to see updated repository and you can
unlock it.
wlc pull ; wlc unlock
Check the FAQ for info on how to resolve this.

Hello,
my Name is Pedro Medeiros and I'm using Fedora as my main system again since this latest release, but my experience with free software goes way back to 1994 with those legendary InfoMagic Slackware CD bundles. I've already done translations before on GNOME packages to Brazilian Portuguese when I was involved in Debian. I'd love to contribute again. ;)
All the best,
Pedro
