Invitation to Translations Team to add to Mindshare Quarterly Report
by Marie Nordin
Hi there,
The Mindshare Committee is working on establishing a new quarterly report.
As I went to convert it into a CommBlog post[0], I realized that we were
only covering the teams that have reps on Mindshare. I would like to invite
the Translations Team to submit additions for the report on the
corresponding ticket [1]. I will then add them to the CommBlog draft and
get it published.
A couple notes:
- Participation is optional
- Submissions should be in bullet form, not paragraphs
- Please include any relevant links
- This report intends to cover activity during Oct-Nov-Dec of 2021
- There is a "Help Wanted" section that all teams are welcome to add to
- Please submit by end of day Sunday January 16th
If the team wants to skip this one and participate in a later report, that
is totally okay. We will also work to gather additions earlier in the
process next time around.

I think the 'cvsl10n' group is replaced by the (simple)
'l10n' group. Please, apply for membership to l10n group in
your Fedora Account and give few days of time to the
sponsors to approve you.
After the approval, if you were not able to create your wiki
page, tell us here again. Or if your approval takes too
long!
There is a proposal for some update of information about our
team on docs.fedoraproject.org. You can see the proposal on
https://docs.stg.fedoraproject.org/en-US/localization/.
If you could share your experience (what information is
missing or not enough clear) that would be excellent! We
could incorporate it to the proposal.
Happy translating,
Josef

Transtats commits on weblate?
by Jean-Baptiste
Hello team & Sundeep,
do we have a place where we discussed the opportunity of using transtats
to commit new translations in weblate?
I'm confused by this account:
https://translate.fedoraproject.org/user/transtats/#audit which
translated many different languages.
It previously were Sundeep's account (a known and appreciated community
member), while it were renamed as transtats on March 2nd 2022.
This raises questions:
* What's the policy for a username renaming in Fedora? How does infra
team handle this?
* how are these translation done? Can transtats suggest translation? How
confident are we with translation quality?
I'm looking forward to see how transtats could help us!
Jean-Baptiste
For those who may not know, transtats is
https://transtats.fedoraproject.org, a detailed translation tracking of
100 fedora packages.

Apply To Join The CVSl10n(trans) Group
by GAKMOTS GAKMOTS
Hi everyone!
this is my first time posting on this list, I'm interested in Fedora's translation work and would like to contribute to it.
My FAS account is GAKMOTS, and I have been using Fedora for more than a year. Before that. I have contributed to some software projects, such as I2P. My native language is Chinese, but I also have English as my first foreign language. At the same time, due to the influence of my friends, I also understand some simple Korean (but very inexperienced).
I hope to be able to integrate into the community culture while helping Fedora translate the contributions, and also improve my English, I saw on twitter that I should apply to join the group, but there doesn't seem to be a button like this, it says I should contact the sponsor, But I see too many sponsors...so I can only message this list....If anyone can help me, I will be very grateful.
BTW, I can't guarantee that I can express my meaning in English fluently, sorry if I have some inappropriate/weird/rude expressions.
