Fwd: Self introduction
by Alex Eng
Hi,
My name is Alex Eng and I'm from Zanata team.
Apart from engineering, I'm interested in working in translations too for
Fedora.
I'm fluent in Simplify Chinese, Malay, English, and Traditional Chinese but
I would start with Simplify Chinese for the time being.

g11n Fedora 24 enhancements
by Jean-Baptiste
Hi there,
I wrote down many ideas in g11n's wiki page for Fedora 24 enhancements :
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/G11N/Fedora_24_G11N_Enhancements
I'll be pleased to have your feed back on those items.
Some are pretty easy :
* but need some time to make, for example : refresh all outdated l10n
team pages.
* or some time to write and follow-up bug : where do we translate
zanata 1st page ?
Some are more community centered :
* have feed to know last translation did by a team,
* have l10n badges,
Some are geeky :
* Add a tool that suggest to copy 100% matching string, at least on
same project (documentation)
If you feel like to be the owner of some task, or to mentor many or even
better know how to help, you're welcome !
regards,

new language teams
by Noriko Mizumoto
Hi
Recently I noticed new teams addition in our Team page [1].
There are some we have not received any new team build announcement on
the ML. Those have some missing information such as 'maintainer e-mail
address', 'cvsl10n group sponsors', etc. In addition, some of them even
have no FAS account thus no FPCA signed.
For those who thinks you are the one of them above, please notice that
you may not be able to support your new team members sufficiently in
future. Could you please read 'L10N maintainer' page [1] and take actions?
We all might already know but once again, Fedora Localization Guide for
Zanata platform (New) is available at [2]. This is good start for all of us.

local/online sprint
by Noriko Mizumoto
Dear all translators and coordinators
Let me ask a question, please.
Have you, did you or are you going to have regional/offline/online
meeting? I am now focusing on how I can be assist of advertising our
amazing power of localization to the world.
* If yes, could you please share your detail?
* If not yet, could you mind to share what is the blocker?
I like to figure out how to accelerate regional activities (or language
specific activities). I like to find if any way I can be of assistance.
Is it simply fund? Any difficulty to find the place? Is it because you
are alone, and needs some hand to gather new members? Please share your
thought and idea. Please feed me what I can do. If you prefer offline,
welcome!
Team coordinators, please please interpret this mail and re-post in your
local mailing lists. I wish to hear from every translators, please,
thank you so much for your help.
I may not be able to solve it instantly, but let me start listing where
we can start from.
Thank you so much

Zanata asking Fedora users to provide name, userid and email even after FAS openid login
by pravin.d.s@gmail.com
Hi All,
$subject. Two problems:
1. There is chance of FAS user can create account with different username
and it will affect our plan to connect with FedBus and generate stats.
2. Was talking with CLA agreement with Zanata guys earlier. They said
rather than they work on signing agreement from users, they want user
simply sign CLA of different project i.e. Fedora, OepnStack and they will
simply connect users to respective project portal. In this case no need to
sign other terms of Zanata (please correct me here if i am wrong). I mean
just user can simply log in and start work.
Most of you might have seen it earlier. I thought its possible to get
rid of this and created ticket against Fedora Infra. [1]
Looks like there is method/way already. Will be very nice if we can
improvement it. Will be very nice if Zanata team works with puiterwijk and
fix it soon.
Regards,
Pravin Satpute

Fedora Zanata Survey Results
by Luke Brooker
Hi All,
I’m glad to finally share the results from the survey many of you helped
with back in October.
It’s been a great help to understand what is needed by this community. I
hope this gives you some insight into how we are thinking about the
upcoming design & development of Zanata.

my summary report of G11N FAD Tokyo 2015
by Noriko Mizumoto
Hi
As all we know, we had successful and memorable first G11N FAD 2015 in
Tokyo between 1st to 3rd November. It was already a month ago, but just
thought that it might be good to share the summary report what I
discussed with others and some achievement for mainly Localization.
I also like to attach the overall summary prepared by Jens [1] and the
stsatus presentation slide for L10N and FLTG prepared by Ani [2], thanks
guys.
[DAY 1]
We, l10n, fltg, i18n, zanata, all got together and presented the status
each other. During hackathon, I have worked and created 'G11N'
presentation slide with other members. This will be available on G11N
wiki page. In the evening, we also had hangout talk and shared ideas
with Cambodian team joining FAD online.
[DAY 2]
In the morning, we all had hangout talk and shared ideas with Fedora
Project Leader, Matthew. As part of hackaton, I have joined the
discussion about new FGSCo structure proposal to strengthen our team as
one G11N. Then I joined the hackathon of recent zanata survey feedback
analysis. It was fun and fruitful dinner gathering at the end.
[DAY 3]
L10N team and FLTG discussed to determine important packages to
localize, giving priority. So that translators can easily find which
package to start without asking around. The deprecated packages list has
also been updated. In order to achieve this, we had a lot of help from
I18N team members as well. I have had proposed 'software deadline change
for F24' and discussed with others. We arrived the consensus no-go for
this proposal, instead I18N members will start seeking and developing a
script to auto-detect string breaks. L10N members will monitor the
breaks closer and produce statistics.
As future F24 planning, we L10N members aim to hold more local
sprints/workshops.
