Something went wrong with Anaconda translations, and before filing a bug report I want to ask you if the Spanish translations is the only one affected.
I remember I have tested Anaconda in April, 5th [1], and everything went fine as I said in the Test Results, but in the F17 GA x86_64 DVD, I see the buttons Back and Next, which surprises me because those two buttons labels were translated many releases ago!
There are also many, many other untranslated strings (please read my test results, I always participate in anaconda translations and testing).
Do you translators see the same results in other languages?

Hi Domingo,

Jorge,
what I mean is during installation.
Anaconda is the installation program, and it was almost fully translated to Spanish in Beta phase. And now, I see many untranslated strings which were translated in beta.

Domingo,
Yes, I understood what you mean in your first email. I know Anaconda and I was the responsible for the translation of this module some releases ago. The answer I give previously remains.
Anyway, I will take a look on the final version this week and give you a feedback.
Regards.

Sorry, let me try again.
If you install F17 Beta, and then update it through the update system, you will never see the final anaconda in action (the one included in the final F17 GA).
So, you've had a very good experience with respect to translations.
My wish is that the final F17 DVD would give me the same experience that I had with F17 Beta [1].
Anyway, I will take a look on the final version this week and give you a feedback.
Please, take a look at it, you may have surprises. At last, end users will use the F17 GA instead of F17 Beta installer.

Hi Domingo,
Yes, I see the same untranslated strings in hungarian. I tried the final release of F17. I also see untranslated string in final release which are translated on transifex.
Do you experience the same problem?

Hi all,
I've copied the anaconda.mo file from the installer to my host, got back the po file with msgunfmt and examined the po file.
Some strings which are translated in the po/mo file, doesn't display in anaconda, only the english string is displayed.
Can it be a gettext bug in the installer? All the untranslated strings are coming from .glade files, the strings are coming from .py files are translated.
Should I file a bug in RHBZ?
Cheers, ptr

Hi
I just tested few locales (include CJK, Hindi and pt_BR) with Fedora 17 GA x86_64 DVD. All tested languages have missing strings. There is a bug [1] already reported for this.
we need to plan regular testing for pre-release Fedora Beta and RC builds other than Fedora installation test day.
thanks

IMHO we need real string freeze. But we used to have no L10n issues..
thanks

There must have been a change in the method used to build the anaconda package for the live image used for testing [1] and the way it was built for Beta and GA releases. Perhaps a race condition in a parallel build.

Hi All,
Are there any hotfix for this problem? What should I add to the squashfs to eliminate this problem? I'm working on a Fedora respin, which would need the localized anaconda, because my users can't understand english strings.
Cheers, ptr
