Agreed, but since this is I hope a rare exception, and no one else
complained so far, I think I'll just go ahead and request this kludgy
workaround.
It's been suggested to change the sentence to something like [1]:
"Optional packages: %d/%d"
which would eliminate the use of ngettext altogether.
Should work for all other languages, no?
