Hi there,
The French translation team had issues with translating documentation. We didn't know what is up to date and need to be translated, nor could have an overview of work-in-progress translation.
José (jaaf64) created two pages : * a [how-to] that explains the production of translated documentation from translated po files (this allows reviewers to see the translated messages in their final context) * a [tracker] to help coordination and information exchange between doc team and translation team.
The tracker is the most important piece. It aims at sharing : * information about what is up to date and what is not, * guide translation priorities * explanation about why things are read-only * Zanata direct links to projects * project specific guidance from owners toward translators
Can you please give your feedback about this pages before we start conversation with docs team ?
If some docs/trans contributors are available, we would like to take the opportunity to discuss this at Flock Krakow this summer.
Note : we asked to push french translations of some docs, but never received an answer, does other groups have completed translations that aren't pushed to docs.fedoraproject.org ?

Thanks by advance,

Jean-Baptiste/José,
Thank you much for helping to smooth the on ramps for contributing on translation/docs :)
Whenever you folks do decide on a process, we'd love to help socialize/promote it on the CommBlog (http://communityblog.fedoraproject.org)
Keep up the good work, and let us folks in CommOps know when it's time to help feature the new process. --RemyD.
P.S. - FYI, There is a Docs FAD coming up soon (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FAD_Documentation_2016). We also have an incoming GSoC intern working on Docs (c0mrad3) starting at the end of April, so this information will be useful for onboarding our new contributors too. And, finally, We also recently added zanata to fedmsg: https://fedora-fedmsg.readthedocs.org/en/latest/topics.html#zanata :)

At the moment, Zanata fedmsg doesn't looks like to work ;)
I hope in a close future it will give more information than "reaching 100%" on a project !
Few ideas : * new strings are available to translation => know when packager push contents * new strings are translated => know when teammates are active * new fuzzy strings are set => know when errors are spotted * new review/rejected strings => know when review process is going on
I'm pretty sure other use cases exist ;)
Note : fedmsg/fednotify are great tools for community, I would be glad to have it translated some day, but it's not high priority yet.

Zanata have webhook (if it is configured by project maintainer) that sends out once a document for a language reached 100% translated.
http://docs.zanata.org/en/release/user-guide/projects/project-settings/#webh...
We will have a new event for per translations event in the future. (in progress)

Thanks Alex, it's really great to start to have this connection with fedmsg.
Fur fun (and to be the first ;)), I finished three nearly complete translations :
https://fedora.zanata.org/iteration/view/gnome-abrt/rhel7/languages/fr https://fedora.zanata.org/iteration/view/anaconda/rhel7-branch/languages/fr https://fedora.zanata.org/iteration/view/blivet-gui/f24-branch/languages/fr
Still nothing in : https://apps.fedoraproject.org/datagrepper/raw?user=jibecfed
And the links given in the documentation are not working : https://fedora-fedmsg.readthedocs.org/en/latest/topics.html#zanata
